Unable to connect my Surface Pro to my PC Windows 11 via Miracast

Hello,I have tried several methods that were shown online but I cannot get my surface pro to connect to my pc. I bought a wifi adapter since I was unable to use miracast on my personal pc without one. Once I installed the wifi adapter, I was finally able to use the cast feature but still cannot project to the surface pro. Both my pc and surface pro are running windows 11 and have the latest updates. When I open the cast and connect to the surface pro, it says that my desktop is about to project but doesnt, and states the following "protected contect cant be viewed on this device".
