Trying to Run an Old Game in Extended Desktop on External Monitor and It Fails to Run While Game Window is on the External Monitor

I am running an old game from Matrix Games (War in the Pacific) on a Lenovo i9 running Windows 11 24H2with a GEFORCE 4060 and an external monitor. It will run fine if the desktop is not extended, but duplicated or if I put the game window on the laptop screen with the desktop extended. However, if I move the window to the external monitor with the desktop extended, then the game becomes completely non-responsive (clicking any where on the window contents produces no response) until I move the window back to the laptop monitor where it will once again run as normal.
