Hello guys,
I know it is not a place to ask about troubles with drivers, but:
a) I am fairly experienced user and Java dev
b) I had perfect OS (Windows 10 Enteprise 1909 64bit, build 18363.752) state untill I upgraded Bluetooth and Wifi drivers using Intel(R) Driver and Support Assistant
Since that upgrade my Bluetooth seems to be dead for Windows (on/off switch disappeared, Bluetooth devices went to hidden in Device Manager (light blue), I do not see any Bluetooth Support service in services.msc). Generally: it looks like something (drivers ) is broken in my PC.
I reported issue to Intel here: Forums, but we are not really progressing.
I have one unknown device currently in the system:
C:\Users\myuser> pnputil /enum-devices /problem /ids /relations
Microsoft PnP Utility
Instance ID: USB\VID_0000&PID_0002\5&16bdd27b&0&9
Device Description: Nieznane urządzenie USB (żądanie deskryptora urządzenia nie powiodło się)
Class Name: USB
Class GUID: {36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000}
Manufacturer Name: (Standardowy kontroler hosta USB)
Status: Problem
Problem Code: 43 (0x2B) [CM_PROB_FAILED_POST_START]
Driver Name: usb.inf
Hardware IDs: USB\DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR_FAILURE
Compatible IDs: USB\DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR_FAILURE
Parent: USB\ROOT_HUB30\4&cb12d54&0&0
Parent device is running MS driver and it is "Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft)" / MS driver version 10.0.18362.693 dated 2020-02-20 (quite recent).
However I would bet I did not have any "problematic" devices in the OS before - untill I made upgrade to latest Wifi & Bluetooth drivers. Meanwhile I have installed 2020-03 security fix I think, but I was without working Bluetooth already.
Could you kindly assist masters? Sometimes it is really easy to answer for person who know details. My apology but I blame Intel drivers or Windows a bit. I do not know what failed from user perspective, because I am running this PC successfully for a few years (upgrading system when upgrades are available). Never had to throw bad words... I need Bluetooth these days as we all use teleconferencing now (plus it annoys me a lot I can not solve issue myself )
BTW. My notebook does not have physical radio (Bluetooth/Wi-Fi) switch/toggle. I am not able to bring Bluetooth back to live again and I really tried many things in the OS. I do not have any experience to devcon, but I am thinking of trying to use it :-|
Many thanks in advance for your assistance!
Kind regards
Pawel
