Trouble with Controller Reconnecting

Hi, I recently got a new computer, and am having some problems with the Bluetooth support. I had connected a Lic Pro Controller, registered as an HID-compliant gaming controller in the device manager, to my computer as a paired device to play games on Steam. After a bit, I had disconnected the controller via turning off the controller itself when I was done. Unfortunately, I am unable to reconnect my controller to my computer without removing the device from the list of paired devices, so that I can re-pair the controller to the computer, every time I wish to use it.
