Transferred CD Files Won't Run

Hello,I recently purchased a physical game on a CD to use on my laptop. My laptop does not have an internal CD reader, so I used an external reader and copied the files from the CD onto a folder on my desktop so that I could play at any time without having to always have the external reader plugged in. When I run the game, a window pops up stating "No CD/DVD-ROM drive found." I have all the files for the program, just as they were on the CD. I tried troubleshooting by looking online, but I could not find any results for this issue.

Windows Update on January 14, 2025 'disappeared' my D: drive and E: drive and probably the files on them. Normal fixes don't work.
