Transfer windows license from dead computer

[Windows 10]

I bought a computer about 5 years ago with a copy of windows which recently broke. I tried to transfer the license over to a new computer but I must deactivate it before transferring it but I am unable to do this since the disk that windows is on is unusable. How can I deactivate the license so I can use it on my new computer?
