Good Day,
I spent the last few hours dealing with the abysmal MS customer support but seens to be a waste of time.
I bought a laptop in July which had Windows 10 Home preinstalled. Which I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro through the MS online store.
The old computer had issues and I had to format the harddrive. I now bought a new laptop with Windows 10 Home preinstalled which I would like to update to Pro using my previous license.
I didn’t get a product key because it’s a digital license. And I couldn’t deactivate the license on the old laptop because I had to format the harddrive so it might still be associated with the old computer. So I assume I would need MS to disassociate my license so that I can use it on the new computer?
Support has been the worst I ever experienced with any company. They even bluntly stated that a retail license is not transferable.
Any advice? I’m in Australia
Regards,
Tobias
