Touch ID stopped working out of nowhere and is unavailable.

The last thread with this problem was closed and as far as I'm aware it wasn't solved. It had been working fine and I've never been rough with the button or anything but all the sudden a few days ago it stopped working completely(the button itself works fine). In settings it's completely unavailable and even notes it can't find a fingerprint scanner compatible. A few weeks ago my indicator for my caps lock wasn't working but eventually it started working again. I think it might have done a system update or whatever while it was asleep so I'm g
