vista and tech support blows the big one

why won't the update catalog scan for updates
some improvement microsoft
first vista box crashes and tech support does not help and now i can't
update my computers thanks alot?!
 
What is the probem. I have worked on several hundred Vista machines and
have not had any issues

I think the original poster is having the same problem as me ....

The windows update 'catalog' (as distinct from the normal windows update)
[ you'll find it via the administrator options on the windows update site] will
not find any new updates to download. It will search & find all updates up to
July but finds nothing after that.

That's a matter of (yet too unflexible) search terms.

using XP as the search term, it finds all the August updates here.....

Herein lies the difference. I notice the /v7/ in you link whereas up until a
few days ago I have been using /v4/ but using my 'usual' link today I am
presented with a screen to upgrade my catalogue software to /v7/. All searches
work fine now.
