The windows update service does not appear in windows services

I try to install a security update that requires an application and I get this error: The installer encountered an error: 0x80070424 The specified service does not exist as an installed service. The error is due to the fact that I have windows update deactivated according to this page . Note: I have not tried the solution that requires two PCs because I don't have two.I see in the service list to activate windows update and I can't get it:How can I solve that?
