The snipping tool closes immediately

The snipping tool closes immediately after cutting out an image section. I have no direct option to edit the image directly and save it under my desired name. It all happens automatically in the background. I always have to go into edit mode manually first, which can be done by clicking on the notification, but this click is superfluous and the notification is unnecessary, as I know at that very moment that I have just taken a screenshot. What kind of strange workflow is that? I always edit every screenshot immediately or give the file a name I specify.This used to work. Which version was it?
