Task View Malfunctioning: Screen Goes Blank and Tabs Won't Clear

A few months ago, I opened 42 tabs in Task View because I was bored. Since then, Task View has not been working properly. When I tap on it, my screen goes blank, and I’m unable to view or remove the tabs from Task View. How can I fix this issue and restore Task View to normal functionality?
