I decided to try to install a windows update. This particular update had been giving me the “something didn’t go as planned” error. I ran the “Windows update Troubleshooter” and it seemed to resolve the problem. I then decided to attempt to install the update again, about half way through the update I was reading an article online saying to “disable all non windows services”. I did this and it prompted me to restart my PC, I had forgotten I was in the middle of a Windows update and clicked restart.
