Every time I turn on this machine, a Synaptics mouse driver is installed. The startup time is snail slow because of this. My touchpad does not work on this machine, it may be bacause the hardware has failed, or it may be because there is something fishy about this driver and Windows 10. I might suggest the problem is my Dell Inspiron as well, but other folks have posted the identical problem with a number of different manufactured computers - HP, Lenovo, not sure which other ones. Here is a partial record of the updates - always the same version, always successfully installed, touch pad never works after the update.
Synaptics - Mouse - 9/19/2018 12:00:00 AM - 19.2.17.70 (3)
Successfully installed on 3/21/2021
Synaptics - Mouse - 9/19/2018 12:00:00 AM - 19.2.17.70 (3)
Successfully installed on 3/19/2021
This record of a successful update goes on forever.
I would allow a technical support engineer from Synaptics, Dell, or Microsoft remotely log into my machine is there is more informaiton that could be gathered to solve this problem As I said, I'm not the first to report this, but all the other reports to answers.microsft.com just end without a resolution.
