Whenever I try to open a PDF file, it get a message that says "invalid value for registry."
I'm not very tech-savvy, but I tried to find an app on my PC to make the default app to open PDF files. But there's nothing I can find. It might be I don't know the name of the app or where to locate it. I thought I was using Adobe Acrobat, but that's not anywhere on my PC when I search for it. The Reader I use won't let me see its properties, so I can't find more info. I think the Reader came with Windows 8.1, so it might not be Adobe after all.
I was able to read PDF files yesterday, but not today... Can anyone help? The suggestions online are usually for Windows 10 or for photos, not PDF files. Some of them are too in depth for me to feel safe making alterations to my hard drive. If I mess something up, I'm lost.
Help!!
