Strange problem of NUMEROUS temp files appearing first time in 30 years

I see that many people have been having lag times with Yahoo and other areas where it takes either websitesor emails to open. You have to delete cookies, temps, and cache to get them to respond. THis is also withtrying to delete files that freeze.I had Norton installed not too long before this started, but when I would delete the above, there may have been22-23 temp files; max. About 2-3 weeks ago I deleted Norton because I did not like it. I use nothing but MSDefender.
