Hey all,

Just putting this out to see if anyone else has experienced the same problem
with the latest round of security updates for Windows XP SP2.

I restarted and was presented with:
Code:

"A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent
damage to your computer...
Technical information:
STOP: c0000135 {Unable To Locate Component}
This application has failed to start because winsrv was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem"

I managed to "fix" it by doing a repair, but obviously I don't want to
install the new updates again if the same thing is going to happen. Even more
baffling is that none of the new updates modify the winsrv.dll file.

There is a support article on this exact error here, but I don't have the TV
Media adware component installed.

Thanks!

Thanks, but as I said, I don't have the TV Media component installed.
