2019-10 Servicing Stack Update for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB4521864)

The SSU before that installed. Previews and Rollups popped back into Updates, but still failed to download and install. Then they add 4521864 ... twice. Don't know why, but I dwnld and install anyway. Twice. Both succeeded.
Guess what. All those Previews and Rollups I have not been able to install going back to March ... I still can't. Defender comes along just fine, but not the Previews or Rollups.
I know you gave me some advice on this previously, Mr. Bill ( OH, NO! Mister Bill ! You may be too young to know about the reference but I could not resist. ) Smithers, but it did not work at that time. Do you think it might now or something else might? (Also my 3542 Inspiron just updated from A14 to A15) I feel 8.1 has sort of been thrown out with the garbage as Microsoft dabbles with those still clinging to Win 7 (greatest OS they ever did) and the constant taping and gluing going on with Win 10.
Or anybody else want to help?
And remember, I am not a computer whiz. In fact I am not a whiz at anything, but that's another post.
