SSD not registering on windows, but shows up on linux

I have an SSD (samsung SSD 850 EVO) and it doesn't work on windows 10 PC, it says device not recognised.As soon as I plug it into a Linux computer, it works. any help would be greatly appreciated, I know similar questions exist but none of the responses solved my problem.
