Microsoft as of yet, does not have an easy way to notify the proper people in security of scams representing to be from MicroSoft.

Impersonating a tradename / trademark is a federal offence. Microsoft makes it difficult to notify their security of these types of infringement /spoofing.

Yesterday, I Googled a product search. I selected a paid link that said Amazon and was directed to a fraud site with a klaxon and ominous warning - this site looks like Microsoft , uses their logo, says its microsoft support alert .... (THIS IS THE SCAM SITE - if you click it it opens, if you click their links, I don't know what it will do.) http://101010101010001.ga/call-now1/ This web-page has the number Call "844 317 2173"

I killed my browser window - I don't think I was infected as I have no adverse effects, no additional processes, have AVG, Malwarebytes, and Defender running and did a full scan with each. But I'm still not comfortable.

I have been on the national do not call list for 10 years and I get dozens of spam calls a weekly. Today, I received another robo call from 804 442 6510 - Claims to be Microsoft - these impersonators call often (sometimes 3 a week). They say they either have money to return to me, or my computer has an error and they will fix it ... You know the drill.

So - my problem is that it's incredibly painful trying to contact Microsoft to let them know their Brand is infringed, and the criminals are spoofing openly on the web. Try to communicate with MS and you get pages and pages of how to configure outlook against spam and spoofing.

Who shuts this mess down so that others are not victimized? Call the company and you go through phone maze hell, only to get connected to a person who is a security guard at a desk guarding the door and telling me that Microsoft doesn't spoof.

After wasting hours I found was directed to https://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

We can authenticate email with SPF to squash spam. Why cant the telcos and ICANN add authentication to to the phone and web.?
