Can I delete the 100 folders that have a spuninst.exe??
Message: I noticed that my WINNT dir has a hundred directories with a name
like $NtUninstallKB873339$ which contain a file called spuninst.exe. Thru
some online research I learned that these come from a patch/hotifx install
and other types of install, but mainly patches. Can I safely remove these
folders and spuninst.exes? Can I just delete them? Or will this mess up my
OS. I have ones that date back to 2001, I would at least like to get rid of
the ones prior to Jan-2007.

You can delete them if you are certain that you will never have to uninstall
any of the updates that they represent. Those directories contain the files
that would be restored if the associated update was uninstalled. For
example if you remove the one associated with IE7, it will not be possible
to uninstall IE7 to go back to IE6.

Try "Ccleaner" (ccleaner.com) and check the option for deleting hotfix
uninstallers. Maybe somebody more knowledgeable than I could comment on the
advisability of this.
