Some of the windows updates are not installed automatically

For an example, my automatic updates are open. There is an update and it isnt installed automatically. I checked it and clicked to download it then its started. If i dont install some of them, it blocks the newer ones and it is like a chain and chain is blocked with first one.Whenever i check my colleagues pc, there is always updates. and it brings newer updates. What is the point of that?
