Some of my Bookmark folders are empty and I have lost my bookmark toolbar

When I went into Firefox today some of my Bookmark folders were empty. All my Bookmark toolbar icons have disappeared . I tried exporting from Edge and Chrome, but "O" bookmarks have imported to Firefox. My "Links" icons are still available. I have tried using the backups for my Profile folder, but they are "Unable to process the backup file". I also tried importing from an HTML file on my desktop, but it said there are no items available. (The HTML file has been opened and the links are in it.) I do have 2 folders on my system with all the bookmarks intact. Can I somehow use these to restore
