Single Folder disappeared from Windows 10 Desktop, it was not deleted, hidden, moved, or renamed.

Windows 10 Pro 64 user on a HP ZBook Create G7 Notebook Laptop (2 year old computer came with Win10 already installed)Yesterday I noticed a single folder missing from my desktop. Looking in the recycle bin, in case I accidentally deleted it, I saw a second folder I didn't initially notice was missing from the Desktop was there in the bin. It contained 30 gig of data. I thought usually deleting folders that big only had the option to permanently delete the files as it was too big for the recycle bin.
