"sign in with a local account instead" is missing. How do I get this back?

Hi. Would like to switch from my Microsoft account to my local account, however the option to do so via "sign in with a local account instead" appears to be missing under account settings. Suffice it to say that I've read through all the posts I could find on this with no luck (latest I saw was from 2017 - 5 years ago - and not helpful). When i got into setting/accounts/Your Info there's no Account Settings area under which I can switch to my local account. I'm currently logged in as an administrator. Any help is much appreciated.
