Should I wait for Windows 12? I'm really scared for my PC because of possible malware or should I immediately update Windows to factory settings?

Hi all. today I came across one problem, when I turned I saw something strange on my PC, from the top left corner I saw black squares on the wallpaper, I selected the entire screen and the wallpaper completely disappeared, I'm sure these are not dead pixels or videocard artifacts I'm very worried about this because this is not the first time I've had situations with wallpapers disappearing. Another question is, the updates for the windows aren't coming, what can I do about it?
