should I restore my pc backup on my new laptop?

I’ve just bought a new laptop that I want to be able to use alongside my current pc, in the setup on my new laptop there is the option to restore from my last pc backup. If I do this, will I still be able to use the devices independently or will there be issues with future backups etc.?
