Of the things Microsoft has done to the Windows UI over the years, the one that causes me the most trouble is the loss of a distinctive menu bar color to identify the active window. When I have many windows open, the clues that remain to distinguish the active window are so subtle that I can't see them.I finally decided that I had to do something about this. There must be a control in Windows Settings for turning active window color back on. I studied the Personalization > Colors dialog and found nothing.
