Server 2003 Restart

Sometimes when updating software or at the conclusion of Microsoft
updates, when I ask the server to "restart", it hangs prior to
beginning the reboot - just before posting begins. This has also
happened when I do a remote reboot using Remote Desktop Connection.

Do you know of a fix for this?
