Serial Number

I have a laptop that I bought in 2022 which came with Windows 11. I removed it and installed Linux, but now I want to go back to Windows 11. So I was thinking that I need to download the Windows ISO, right? But I'm also concerned about the serial number because I had an original version and I lost it when I removed it. I read that the serial number is stored in the motherboard and that Windows recognizes it upon reinstalling.
