SCAM-This looks like a scam

Is this a SCAM? While researching YOUTUBE instructional videos on making a mini bow I received a notice from which I was unable to leave until I pressed control-alt-delete. It said: This site says

*Your Microsoft Computer has been Blocked*

Windows System Alert!!

System has been infected due to unexpected error!

Please contact Microsoft 1-800-601-3497 Immediately!

to unblock your computer


Registry Failure of Operating System

Error Code: rundll32.exe

Immediatley call Microsoft at 1-800-601-3497

System Data Files Is At Risk

System services may be not working

Hard Drive is about to crash

Possible Registry Failure

DLL files got corrupted

Foreign address detected


Immediately call Microsoft at 1-800-601-3497

There was a box at the end of the message that required a check. Next to the box it stated, "Don't let this page

create more viruses.

There was another shaded box that had "OK" and it appeared that it required to be depressed.

I looked at the address of the site and it read as follows, videoson.lineco/alert.html


I couldn't release from the website but was able to check my virus protection service which said that my computer was okay and protected. I finally was able to free myself by hitting Cont-alt-delete.


Any information regarding this is greatly appreciated.
