Reverting to LOCAL after MS hijacked my USER account and changed it

Can I REVERT to a LOCAL user on a W11 install or not ? Microsoft was able to take over and convert my USER to a live.com account, with no permission granted to do so, simply because I logged into Outlook on the browser (so I thought). It now seems that means they take control of your whole laptop. But I need a LOCAL user login, and I cannot now reset. If MS converted me in situ then surely we can revert in situ. There is no 'local account' setting option any more in settings. Can I convert back to a LOCAL user account, unattached to live.com without deleting the User and setting it all up
