Restore Documents Folder - Disconnect from OneDrive

I have found a number of user's suggestions to disconnect the Documents, etc. directories from OneDrive (MS seems bound and determined to make OneDrive an essential Windows service. I have been using a different cloud backup service for years and I am not about to change.) My problem is that none of the solutions work (for me) in this most recent reinstallation of Win 10 Pro (64). Any help will be greatly appreciated.hip
