Removing RAID controller at XP boot up

The control you see is embedded on the PCI card itself. It will disappear as

soon as you remove the card.
 
I installed a pci card with two ATA 133 HD drive ports it came with drivers,

I think I installed the wrong driver (RAID instead of straight). Cant get

rid of the Marvel Raid control because it comes up before boot and has

presumably tucked itself in the bios somewhere. Is there a solution? Perhaps

reflashing the bios?

No this is not the case - the Raid messages come at boot up even though the

card is removed - this is what annoys and slows bootup - though it is not

terminal in any way! This is why I assumed it must be hooked in the Bios.

Its not 'hooked' into the bios, if you installed the sata/raid controller

for your card its 'hooked' into your winXP installation.

There is no separate 'straight' or raid driver for your card, there is only

one, whether you have to configure a single drive, connected to the card, as

JBOD depends on the controller.
