removing account deleted everything

[Windows 10]

I signed in as my normal user with admin rights. I deleted a regular user account (not administrative) and the account was deleted but so was all the data in my account which was an admin account. Everything gone, even the download folder was missing. All documents, all pics and all music gone. Even folders and file on the desktop were deleted from the admin account. Programs work fine, system run fine but all my data is gone and unrecoverable. Why did windows 10 do this? I didn't delete the admin account only a regular user.
