I have a new Windows desktop PC and an old Windows desktop PC, both at home and on my peer-to-peer network. The old PC doesn't have a monitor and keyboard. I use Remote Connect to connect to it, whenever I want to do something on that old PC. Recently I changed the password to my Microsoft Account. This should have carried through to both machines since I use that to log into both machines.
