I have an HP Envy printer that has worked splendidly for a couple of years on my Windows 7 desktop pc. All of a sudden it will not print. Message says the printer is "offline," but the printer says it is connected to the home network. I note that an icon in the notification area says that the Scan to PC app is "not available."
Interestingly, I can print from a Windows 7 laptop, which was installed from the same CD--and the notification there says "Scan to PCActivation App is working ("Scan to computer is enabled.")
I've been hours with one HP tech support person after another. They made me pay $99.99 in advance, then went through all manner of troubleshooters, then gave up. Each time I asked tech support if maybe uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software might help, they brushed off the idea. The fact that I can print from another computer would seem to rule out a printer problem. What does anyone think?
