Download the update from here, and SAVE it to the root drive [the drive
where Windows is installed to], usually C:\.
When the download completes click Start > Run > copy and paste the below
into the Open: line

"C:\WindowsXP-KB920872-x86-ENU.exe" /o

Click OK or press Enter
If the letter of the root drive is different, then change it to where
KB920872 was downloaded to.
