Was poking around Windows' system sounds, located in C:\Windows\Media, and there are a good few files here in a .raw format, such as "Focus0_48000Hz.raw" and "Invoke_48000Hz.raw". I only knew .raw as a format related to photographs, but on some digging I found out it exists as a format for audio data as well. Despite this, though, I've been unable to open and play them. I tried importing them through Audacity but I didn't have any luck, and of course all the regular media players fail to open them at all. What's the deal with these funky files, and how can I open them up and take a listen?As a
