Hi all,
Could you please help with random BSODs my HP Spectre laptop has been experiencing from ~February 2020?
Appreciate any help, because the only remaining thing for me is to reinstall Windows, which I would like to avoid
Symptoms
BSODs are completely random - no correlation with applications running, actions done with laptop or overall system load. Failure results in either immediate BSOD or inability to do anything but moving cursor - all applications are frozen, I cannot even do ctrl + alt + delete.
No minidump is created - "Dump file creation failed due to error during dump creation."
Error
Most common BSOD errors are CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED (often) and UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION (rare).
Hardware / System
Laptop: HP Spectre 13t-ae000
OS: Windows 10 Home x64 (all latest updates / patches applied)
Drivers: all latest, updated (?) through Windows Update. However, system crashes on "manufacturer" drivers downloaded from HP website as well.
Actions performed:
1. Filesystem check - no errors
2. sfc /scannow - no errors
3. dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth - no errors
Event Viewer:
Event viewer shows 3 consequence errors on each crash
Kernel-Power "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."
volmgr "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."
EventLog "The previous system shutdown at 6:03:46 PM on 3/15/2020 was unexpected."
