Hi, even though I have Ad-Aware protecting my computer and Outlook 2007, I somehow got an infected .PST file. The trojan virus infected not only my main PST file, but also all my backups. (Don't people have anything better to do?). At any rate, I found a website (www.virustotal.com) that will scan files and located viruses, but it only takes files up to 128MB. My PST file is over 5GB. So I deleted all I could except for the very latest emails/folders which would contain the infected attachment. Even after deleting everything from "Deleted Items," and manually compacting, the file is still close to 4GB. There is hardly anything in there, so something is wrong. My questions:

1) How can I get the infected PST file smaller (i.e. 128MB or smaller)? I figure if I can identify the infected attachment, I can then delete it from my Outlook, and hopefully that will remove the infection from the PST file.

2) Can anyone recommend any software to locate and remove the virus from the PST file? (Ad-Aware located the virus, but "fails" to delete or quarantine. Even so, I don't want to delete the entire PST file [which is all Ad-Aware will do... if it were working] because then, of course, I'd lose all my emails, contacts, calendar, etc = nightmare.

Thanks so much for the help
