Dear Community, Dear Mr. Cornell

On a Laptop of one of our Students, I do have a similar issue, although the cause might be different …

After a not intended Update to Windows10 she tried to reinstall some drivers for a Camera-System. Unable to do so, she decided to Rollback to Windows 7. After the Rollback she encountered the fallowing issue.

  1. Booting up the System ends up with a Bluescreen.
  2. Booting up the System to Safe Mode ends up with a Log-In-Screen where neither Mouse nor Keyboard are responding.

The Procedure I've chosen: Fix the Bluescreen, Check what issues remain.

The Bluescreen was caused by khlk.sys (Kaspersky file). After renaming the file, the System boot up normally, except it ends up with a Log-In-Screen where neither Mouse nor Keyboard are responding.

Just to clarify: the Mouse and Keyboard are integrated and work proper when booting to Repair-Mode or with a Live-Boot-System. To use an external Mouse or Keyboard did not help. The Repair-Mode reports, that this can't be repaired automatically and SFC reports, that to fix it, the computer has to be restarted and SFC must be run one more time, but it doesn't change anything at all.

After a long search I ended up with the Issue, this thread is about. In the ntbtlog.txt I find a lot of drivers which hasn't been loaded. It looks like this:

Loaded driver \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\iaStorF.sys

Loaded driver \SystemRoot\System32\drivers\hwpolicy.sys

Loaded driver \SystemRoot\System32\DRIVERS\fvevol.sys

And as mentioned in the initial Post the fallowing entries

Did not load driver @battery.inf,%*compbatt.devicedesc%;Microsoft Composite Battery

Did not load driver @oem42.inf,%usb3hub.drvdesc%;UoIP Hub

are also in this case located in the very top of the not loaded drivers …

May it be, that the Mouse (Trackpad) and Keyboard are not working, due to missing USB 3 drivers? Shouldn't they work in Legacy-Mode?

Or can this be caused by that what is left from Kaspersky?

How can I fix this? As soon as I can Login proper, I might reinstall all drivers at the Device-Manager … I would guess …

Here some additional Info's:

System: Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon (20A7)

OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit (As far as I know, Might also be 32-Bit)

Latest Recovery Point: 15 Month ago (so this is not really an option)

Has someone an Idea how to solve this?

@Mr. Cornell:

You mentioned in Your profile, that You enjoy solving computer problems … Is this a Puzzle you can help me with?

Kind regards

MacVes
