Problem with Zooming in and Out, Cursor Moving While Typing and Constant Scrolling Up and Down When Not Even Touching Touchpad; Occurs in both Win 8.1

I have been having problems with my touchpad for several years now, mostly on Windows 8.1 and my HP Laptop, and now also on a Brand-New Microsoft Surface Laptop with Windows 10. There are several issues that keep happening.

1. When scrolling around a screen, like an image or page in document of any kind, all of a sudden my screen Zooms in Or Out of its own Volition. Sometimes it is the Zoom buttons inside a particular program, like my online game Empire.goodgame.com, sometimes in Word or Excel and sometimes it is the Windows or Chrome Zoom feature which then shows the Reset Button in the Location box. I am constantly having to try to resolve the zooming by clicking the Zoom In and Zoom Out buttons everywhere to figure which one this time is zooming my screen. As far as my online game is concerned, it does not matter whether I am playing the game in Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
2. Independent scrolling of my screen in numerous programs and clicking buttons at random as I or it is scrolling around the screen. And this is happening when my hand or fingers are not on the touchpad to move around or to click a button. I am just moving around looking for something on the screen and it just goes and clicks the button nearest to the pointer. This happened to me previously on my HP Windows 8.1 Laptop and now is continuing to happen on my new Microsoft Surface Laptop with Windows 10. As I was typing this last sentences it just scrolled my window downward. I can be using my index finger on left hand to scroll around the page and as I am scrolling it just clicks on a button the screen as I am passing around it.
3. When actively typing in a document of any kind (including emails and information boxes on the web), my cursor just jumps from where I am currently typing to anywhere on the screen with no help from me. This just happened as I was creating this message.
4. I was typing in the Subject Box, and all of a sudden I noticed that the last few words I typed did not appear. I looked and my cursor was down below and even outside of the message box. On other occasions, I will be typing something and my cursor just jumps up 2-3 lines and starts to enter the typing at that location. This is an action the program should not be doing. Normally f I want to move my cursor somewhere else on the page and start typing something there, I have to go to this location and click to move the cursor there.
5. I make Word Documents and Excel Spreadsheets and the same kind of things happen. My cursor will just jump to another point on the screen and either start typing right there in the middle of a sentence or jump to a white space in the Word document and stay there.
6. I am actively involved on Twitter and Quora and all of the same things happen there. All of a sudden it just scrolls up or down the screen away from where I was actively typing and I have to find my way back to where I was, which sometimes is hard to do because it will scroll me to another question on the page, open up a comment box and start typing there and other times it will just open another Quora tab and place my cursor over there.

I have read over the past several months about the scrolling issue, but not the rest of what is happening here. I happen to make long comments on Quora, I type numerous amounts of documents in Word, Excel, Google Docs and Google Sheets and keep encountering these problems. This is very frustrating and counter productive for me.


I have tried numerous times in Windows 8.1 to change various setting on the touchpad/mouse and scrolling options and can find nothing that alleviates this problem. I thought with getting a new Microsoft Surface laptop and Windows 10 it would stop, but no such luck. I am still having all of these problems.
