Problem with windows vista desktop

The computer was in sleep mode.Turned itself on at night and when I noticed it in the early hours the screen was green and or blue , looked pixelatedI had to turn it off at the mains as the buttons did nothingTurning it on it get this message Your computer was unable to start Start up repair starts and attempts repair but will not fix the issue* Changed to a question
