Problem with External Hard Disks

A few weeks ago, I sometimes encountered read/write errors with my external hard drives, not just one hard drive, which were connected to my laptop, would like to seek for advice how to resolve it.Environment:HP Envy 16, 12th Gen Intel i7-12700H 2.3GHz, 64GB RAMOS = WIN11 Home 64Bit, Version 23H2, OS Build 22631.4541External Disk Drives: Basically (1) Sandisk 2TB SSD & ASUS ROG Strix Arion M.2 NVMe SSD, connected through Type-C port & USB-C Multiport adapter, for working files requiring fast access; and (2) 5TB Seagate One Touch w/PW SCSI Disk Device, directly connected via USB Type-A
