problem with copy and past function

[Windows 10]

copy and paste works correctly when done within computer files. Copying outside such as a web address on the Internet results in the copied information on the clip board but the paste command is greyed out. Previously this operation worked correctly but failed a few months ago. I have hunted for the problem with no success.Any help is appreciated.
