Printer is offline

I have a brother MFC=cw printer and I can't print my documents. It says it is offline. I did the troubleshooting and it says printer needs to be turned on. The printer is turned on and it still says offline. I have followed all instructions. I have unplugged and restarted printer, yet troubleshoot still says to turn on printer. Help!
