Power light blinking red then white

I have a Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1, and its power light keeps blinking red then white. The laptop only works when the charger is plugged in, and if I unplug it, it completely shuts off, closing all my windows and basically restarting. Does anyone know what is causing this?
