Pin instead of a password, no access to the microsoft account

My computer suddenly started to ask for a pin, instead of a password. However, I do not have a pin. However, I still cannot login, as the hotmail account I used for the computer years ago is lost now, and I cannot access it. How can i recover the hotmail account, or can i enter the system without recovering that account?
