Photos edited and saved to OneDrive on PC are saved as originals on IOS

I use OneDrive to easily save my photos from my PC to my phone. However, ever since the recent IOS update (the one that completely overhauled the UI), whenever I edit and overwrite a synced photo to my PC, when I go to save it on my phone, it only saves the original version of the image. It is not an issue of syncing, as the photo's thumbnail on my phone will appear with the edits-- it is only when I save the photo onto my device that the edits do not appear. I have tried every method of restarting the app and every file saving option, but it has not fixed the issue. Is this a bug or is there
